Man Cave Happy Hour
Sipping Ciders and Making a Difference: Inside the Man Cave
Raise your glasses and wax those mustaches – it's time to talk charity, cider, and community support on this episode of Man Cave Happy Hour!
Jamie, Matt, and August dive into a tasting of Blake's Cider seasonal offerings while unveiling the backstory of their beloved Magnum 12 charity event. What started as friends challenging each other to wear tracksuits to a bar has evolved into a 12-year tradition of Hawaiian shirts, mustaches, and heartfelt community giving. The guys share candid (and sometimes hilarious) reviews of Blake's Cider Mill Donut and Salted Caramel Apple flavors – with a surprise call to Blake's representative Mike Didio providing insider details about the upcoming event.
The conversation takes us through the evolution of their charity events, from rotating causes to finding their perfect charitable match with the Hero Foundation, which supports families affected by cancer during difficult times. We get the scoop on this year's venue at the tiki-themed Eastern Palace Club and hear about the tremendous outpouring of support from local businesses donating gift cards for auction baskets. Between sips and laughs, the guys share stories of gift card mishaps, podcast award nominations, and August's struggles with his mandatory Magnum PI mustache.
Whether you're planning to attend Magnum 12 or simply enjoy hearing about community-driven charity work done with heart and humor, this episode showcases why the Man Cave Happy Hour has become a beloved fixture in Detroit's podcast scene. Grab your favorite cider, tune in, and consider how you might support families impacted by cancer through the Hero Foundation.

Matt Fox: 0:44
That's not how we do this. That is August Gitschlag.
August Gitschlag: 0:46
That's sexy, Matt Fox right there.
Jamie Flanagan: 0:49
Can't do plaid. They've gone. Plaid we're talking about. We're going to try some ciders today.
August Gitschlag: 0:57
Yeah, why not?
Jamie Flanagan: 0:58
Our friends from Blake's. Our friends from Blake's Made me go to the store and buy some of their damn ciders. You know we get them.
August Gitschlag: 1:04
We made me go to the store and buy some of their damn ciders.
Jamie Flanagan: 1:07
You know, we get them.
August Gitschlag: 1:07
We get them. They send us a lot of stuff. I don't know which ones are coming, though. We haven't gotten the list yet.
Jamie Flanagan: 1:12
Oh yes, and we're also going to be talking Magnum 12. Not just the size of my condom. Hey-oh, hey-oh, all right, different show.
Mike: 1:22
Different show.
Jamie Flanagan: 1:22
So much for sharing this with the kids at school. Yeah, I know, this is the world win.
August Gitschlag: 1:31
This is the busy week for me. It's called.
Jamie Flanagan: 1:33
Detroit, city of Champions.
August Gitschlag: 1:34
It's all about 30, 35, detroit.
Jamie Flanagan: 1:38
I don't tell them about this one. People find it though. Yeah, but anyway. So we're talking Magnum 12 today, and so the Hero Foundation and Blake Cider. So we're going to drink a cider, talk in Magnum and have a little bit of fun. Before we do that, let's dive into the mind of Matt Fox.
Matt Fox: 1:53
Okay.
Jamie Flanagan: 1:56
So you asked. You asked no, really I don't know, oh, but no, I'm Matt Do you have a dream to share with us or something.
Matt Fox: 2:02
Matt Two of them actually Matt.
Jamie Flanagan: 2:06
We talked it up. We got a hole-in-one earlier this year. Oh yeah, and now his name's on a little plaque engraved at the golf course.
Mike: 2:12
It is actually that's fun yeah.
Jamie Flanagan: 2:13
That's fun. Have you seen it? Or Dave sent you a picture of it. The hypnotist? Yeah, he golfs there frequently and he was back. Is he going to come blazing?
August Gitschlag: 2:23
in here any minute now Probably.
Matt Fox: 2:24
I'm waiting for a text from him. Hey, the door is locked, but yeah, it's been a fun summer.
Jamie Flanagan: 2:29
Let me just say that yeah.
Matt Fox: 2:31
My mind was blown plenty of times this past summer because just it was a great summer Working hard, playing hard and vacationing hard and not drinking as much.
August Gitschlag: 2:42
Fair play. I don't believe that part. I don't believe that part.
Matt Fox: 2:50
As well as you should not.
August Gitschlag: 2:52
I believe in Santa, I know Matt Fox, I believe in the Tooth Fairy.
Matt Fox: 2:54
But speaking of that, this weekend with Magnum is one of the most fun parties and events of the year.
August Gitschlag: 3:03
It is a very fun event. It is a very I don't know is intimate the right word Like. It's a very cool group. We've cultivated the same people you know, plus new people come here and there. This will be our 12th one. I think we might have missed one because of COVID. Covid, yeah, but yeah, I think we missed that one year 2020.
Matt Fox: 3:26
Because I know Jamie's DJed it one. That one year 2020, because I I know jamie's dj'd it a time.
August Gitschlag: 3:29
I've dj'd it a time and it's just an absolute riot, and the reason why we're there is even better, and the reason it has has um changed over the years. Yes, so this all started with the tracksuit party. Right, that was the. Everyone knows that. You know, conrad wore a velour tracksuit. Put something on facebook, yeah, about having a velour tracksuit. I said you wear it to the bar, I'll wear it to the bar. Yep, so, mike, mike, united, the three of us wore tracksuits to the bar, laughed at each other and said let's just do a party. We call it the tracksuit party.
August Gitschlag: 3:49
See if anybody shows up and it got traction in legs, man, people started coming so I'm like shit, now we gotta do something good with this stuff. Yeah. So after like the second one, we started making a new charity event. We'd rotate it around and find different things and eventually it's settled into the track. Suit is the friendship house. Yeah, the friendship and then we're like, after like two or three, we got to do something in the summertime and at the time mustache parties were like all the rage. You could buy a mustache party kit at party city, you know and I was like oh, mustache rise.
August Gitschlag: 4:17
And blah blah. I'm like well, we can do like a burt reynolds party and I'm like, oh wait a minute, magnum pi yeah, hat Hawaiian shirt.
David Wright: 4:23
It's simple. We'll sell the mustaches, bang Bang.
August Gitschlag: 4:26
We threw that out there, and also that one just had immediate legs.
Jamie Flanagan: 4:29
And it's an easy costume we started doing it.
August Gitschlag: 4:31
We had also did random different charities. We had like three or four different charities we did and then that one settled into the Hero Foundation Right, which Mikey's Association helps support families who are impacted by cancer. Yes, we take care of the holidays and things like that.
Jamie Flanagan: 4:46
Help with that. So the money goes and helps families stay on track and keep the joy alive. It's all right here in. Michigan During challenging times All states here in Michigan.
Matt Fox: 4:57
It's a brilliant party it really is, and it's a great event and it's for a very, very great cause and we've been very fortunate to have supporters over the years, especially. That's for a very, very great cause and we've been very fortunate to have supporters over the years especially just the Blakes have stepped up for years now and have been great In the past we've had different distributors that come through and we call it the Bacardi.
August Gitschlag: 5:13
Magnum PI. Sometimes it flies, sometimes it doesn't, depending on how our relationship with the distributors work. We don't work at the bar anymore, so we always did it at Whiskey in the Jar, because we all kind of worked there.
Jamie Flanagan: 5:21
We're going to talk about what's happening coming up, but we're on the keynote sponsor, which is Blake's, so let's try some ciders. Do we want to keep talking about Magnum or do we want to try the cider? We're going to do both.
August Gitschlag: 5:32
So we got the cider mill donut. We didn't get any of the plain ones, because our plain ones are standard.
Jamie Flanagan: 5:38
I'm sending my welcome cocktail as well, cause I know it's like you know, blake's brought to you Magnum 12 brought to you.
David Wright: 5:43
Presented by.
Jamie Flanagan: 5:43
Presented by Blake's. And so I was like, oh, so we'll talk about that and I'll pick up some, some cider. I said a six pack of cider. And then I was driving in and I'm like, oh, I said they have the caramel apple out. I'm going to get the caramel apple and I'll get the uh, the American.
Jamie Flanagan: 5:56
Right store and I see this. I see the, uh, cider mill donut. Oh, it's a limited release from from blake's. Yes, so there is a limited, limited series and I'm like, oh, all right, let's do the the flavor flavor, let's go flavor flavor. So it's just, we got the the caramel apple which has been around for a couple years, salted caramel apple. Yeah, salted caramel apple. So they've done this previously. That one.
August Gitschlag: 6:25
I've seen this cider mill donut and Mike Didio is great. They do a great work over there. Sometimes they'll produce one and as soon as they fall in love with it they stop making it Right, right, right, and it says right there.
Jamie Flanagan: 6:35
Limited release. Now they say limited release on it, just so you don't're all gone. I don't care. Start the presses. Do we want to do? We need cups to share these. I'm gonna. I'll drink one by myself, I'm gonna grab a cup. You're gonna grab a cup, just uh, just because, if it's because, and then so yeah, mike's here. So if it's vile, we can say so we're usually pretty we're usually pretty honest anyway. Yeah, and I had a, I had a they make 10 15 different ciders.
August Gitschlag: 7:06
You're not gonna like every one of them.
Jamie Flanagan: 7:07
Yeah, you know. Yeah, they have like a pink flamingo one. I forget what it's called, but it's got a flamingo on it and it's a very.
August Gitschlag: 7:14
It is like that is the pink one, yeah pink lemonade, maybe it is, it's. It's very, very summery their imperial blueberries goddamn delicious. I love it.
Jamie Flanagan: 7:26
Yep, their high-octane blueberry one is great, yep, yep. So this one, these are coming in. Both of these, the salted caramel apple and the cider mill donut are both coming in at 6.5. Some of their expressions are up to 8. Yeah, I don't know if any of them are lower than 6.5. I don't know if any of them are lower than 6.5. I don't know if they have any five percenters or not.
Matt Fox: 7:44
I don't think. I'm not sure. In the state of Michigan they can't go higher than what percentage with ciders I think there is a limit of.
Jamie Flanagan: 7:50
Oh, okay.
Matt Fox: 7:51
I think it's like 10% or something like that, something like that All right.
August Gitschlag: 8:03
I probably should have called Didio and make. Let's go with the donut first.
Jamie Flanagan: 8:05
Because that's new. It's new, exciting and different.
Matt Fox: 8:08
You know what I miss. You know what I really miss Jamie, Nobody's pregnant. I really miss flannel mouth. Okay, I said it out loud.
August Gitschlag: 8:20
So the ingredients here? Wasn't that your nickname in college?
Jamie Flanagan: 8:24
Yes, I did like the flannel mouth. That was my favorite. But they said the American, the American apple. The American apple was the cheese, lint balls was his name. Kenya, really, can you pour me one of those too? So ingredients. His name's not Kenya, it's Matt Fox. The ingredients here on Cider Mill Donut is hard cider, sugar, malic acid and natural flavors.
August Gitschlag: 8:50
Well, thanks for sharing that deep recipe with us. So there you go. Oh, I can smell the malic acid from here.
Jamie Flanagan: 8:56
Can you?
Matt Fox: 8:57
Yeah, ooh, yeah, so salt. This is the Cider Mill Donut.
Jamie Flanagan: 9:04
Cinnamon sugar donut flavored hard cider cinnamon sugar no, thank you, donut.
August Gitschlag: 9:10
No, thank you, it's a no, thank you give me the american, give me the blueberry, yeah, give me the summer flamingo yeah, no, this one not my favorite maybe I have to be out there with a donut. I mean, I guess half the fun of is being oh, smelling the cider and the donuts and all that stuff at the time. It's tough to recreate that.
Matt Fox: 9:28
It's an experience that you have when you're walking around in lakes and you know you got a warm donut in your hand and a hot cider.
David Wright: 9:35
Or a cold cider. That's an experience.
Matt Fox: 9:36
And you got a. That's an experience, that's the environment that you're in.
Jamie Flanagan: 9:41
It's more cinnamon. It's very cinnamon heavy. It's very cinnamon heavy. It's a sweet cinnamon I don't get the donut I do.
Matt Fox: 9:52
It's a great package. I get the donut. Nice can Do you like that can.
Jamie Flanagan: 9:58
It says, fall in a can. Oh, there it is. Maybe it's still 70 out.
August Gitschlag: 10:03
Maybe it's not weathered, for it Made with real fruit, I'm glad we only opened up one can. I mean, I bought a six-pack, so I'll drink it.
Matt Fox: 10:14
I'll sit outside and drink it.
Jamie Flanagan: 10:15
I'll do this penance. Last time I was up at Blake's.
August Gitschlag: 10:21
I had to bring like five or six flavors back for Kat, because she loves her ciders and she's celiac so that's what she drinks. So I made all these little. You can just mix and match and make your own six-packs. So I brought a whole flat of Blake's back.
Jamie Flanagan: 10:32
You want to take one or two of these home to see if she likes them Absolutely. And if not, I'll know, because when I come over there'll be one in the fridge when we're pre-gaming for something. We have one next week.
August Gitschlag: 10:45
Yeah, I'm going the next day. I'm going to both games.
Mike: 10:47
18th and 19th.
August Gitschlag: 10:49
I have extra tickets to the 18th guys, I wish I could. I'm going to recreate the evil wheel.
Jamie Flanagan: 10:52
I'm going to the 17th. I'm going to the 17th. It's halfway to St Patrick's Day, it's the Polish, the Polish St.
Matt Fox: 11:01
Yeah, Daddy's got to work. Irish heritage Sorry fellas.
August Gitschlag: 11:06
I think you've done, caught gone and caught a snivel.
Jamie Flanagan: 11:08
So yeah.
Matt Fox: 11:09
Sorry, fellas, I feel it coming on now?
Jamie Flanagan: 11:16
I don't know, as I are you getting any clove in this, as you, as you, sip it?
August Gitschlag: 11:20
It's much. It's a much more palatable on sip three.
Jamie Flanagan: 11:23
Yeah, it's a whole different thing.
August Gitschlag: 11:25
It's getting better, maybe because our palates were sitting there sipping on welcome cocktails that were made to our perfect specifications. I think after 12 of these I'd be pretty happy. I'd be all right, I'd probably be the third one 6.5?
Matt Fox: 11:39
Yeah, probably A little sugar high maybe.
Jamie Flanagan: 11:43
As I'm getting into it. But I don't know, it's kind of. It's kind of a lot of spice in it. I don't know if I because when I get like a beer, I have a beer that's spicy I can't do more than one of them we had when we were at the detroiter bar. Colleen got something. I forget what it was, but it's like a lot of heavy on the clove. It was a very clove heavy.
August Gitschlag: 12:01
I just came from a beer beer festival and and 80% of the beers you get there, you get them at a tasting cup for a reason.
Mike: 12:08
They're the kind of beers that eat they.
August Gitschlag: 12:10
when they sell them, they sell them in big ass bottles that you're going to crack open and share amongst yourselves anyway. So, that's basically how we were, how we drink there.
Jamie Flanagan: 12:16
Yeah, so so all right.
August Gitschlag: 12:31
No little further, but I still don't get a donut. I'm just getting cinnamon and sweet cinnamon bread feel. Are you getting bread like a donut bread? I'm not. I'm not getting traffic jam on a two-lane highway outside of blake's either.
Jamie Flanagan: 12:37
So uh, sunday morning that's true strollers and all right, all right, that got better as it went further.
Matt Fox: 12:43
No, it's. It was not my favorite, but it's.
August Gitschlag: 12:47
I will still drink that. I'm not going to pick it out of the lineup when I have other other great products.
Jamie Flanagan: 12:50
That's fair. So now Coppercraft had that Honolulu blue cocktail for the for the lions.
August Gitschlag: 13:01
Yeah, I wonder if those bandwagon cocktails are selling this as well today.
Jamie Flanagan: 13:04
Yeah, yeah, yeah, and I had one, and it's been sitting in my fridge since the beginning of last season. The worst stat about yesterday's game was this won't stay in the fridge that long.
August Gitschlag: 13:17
Yes, jake Bates, our kicker, had more tackles than Aiden Hutchinson yesterday One to none.
Jamie Flanagan: 13:24
Well, here's the only thing I want to talk about the game yesterday.
August Gitschlag: 13:27
We don't do a lot of sports ball here on the man Cave Happy Hour.
Jamie Flanagan: 13:30
The happy moment for me with Tesla.
Matt Fox: 13:34
It's Tesla, tesla. Yeah, the kid from Market.
Jamie Flanagan: 13:36
Yeah, that was great, le Biosa.
Matt Fox: 13:39
Yeah.
Jamie Flanagan: 13:40
All right Tesla, all right Tinkerbell got his first touchdown and I'm very happy.
Jamie Flanagan: 13:47
It was remarkable that was remarkable and it was like you know, he palmed that bad boy. It was great. One foot down, got the other heel down, got his mid on it right before his butt dropped, touchdown. And so here, but here's the the a little side story that I saw later today, that that just I was like, made me even happier because that's the only thing I'm so happy for that kid getting his first touchdown. You know, everything else was, you know and it made national highlight reels.
August Gitschlag: 14:11
Even though we got our butts kicked, I should show yeah, cause he just palm that.
Jamie Flanagan: 14:13
Yeah and so, but so they they weren't. This is going to be called back or not, and so he's over on the sidelines Like do I celebrate? What's going on? You know, I don't know, I'm excited. What's happening and uh, I'm going to say Brown had wherewithal to go. Hey, you went over to a ref. He's like ref, because if that's a touchdown I need that ball and the ref, amon Ra.
August Gitschlag: 14:40
He is a really great guy. He's one of those same brown boys.
Jamie Flanagan: 14:45
We just love him.
David Wright: 14:47
It's like oh, my God.
Jamie Flanagan: 14:50
I was so excited about the touchdown for that kid getting his first NFL touchdown, even though it wasn't on a win, but he got his touchdown, so good for him. Then it just amplified it today with that sweet story of Amon Ra. I don't know if it's true or not, I read it on the internet, so it's got to be true, it's got to be true.
David Wright: 15:05
I want it to be true because I love those same brown boys.
Jamie Flanagan: 15:10
I love ours especially.
Matt Fox: 15:12
Number 14?
Jamie Flanagan: 15:13
Yeah, Anyhow, the rest of it is like.
August Gitschlag: 15:20
I didn't listen to any local sports radio, because I didn't want to hear that crap. I listened to only national sports radio all day long. And it came up Three different shows I listened to for a minute. They all had the exact same thing. It's the coordinators. They have new coordinators and no one's synced up yet. They'll get there.
Jamie Flanagan: 15:38
Here's the thing, right, because there's that one picture when they were trying to play out of the end zone and then just the whole center was like wide open. Well, it was, it was two blockers going to the right, yeah and the guy, the blocker on the left.
Matt Fox: 15:51
He had no one in front of him, yet there was a guy coming right back or coming right at yeah, yeah, but the best thing, the meat.
Jamie Flanagan: 15:58
The caption under it was like frank, I hope them fish are biting. That was I'm like them fish better be biting for you. That's all we got to say. That's correct. The salted caramel here, that was funny.
August Gitschlag: 16:12
I did get word that we are going to have the key lime pie cider. Oh, okay, which? I think that's the one with the pink flamingo. I don't know, maybe I don't know.
Matt Fox: 16:21
I don't know thank you man, I'm gonna pour the salted caramel here yeah, I I'll drink.
Jamie Flanagan: 16:25
I know the salted caramel, I know yes, I've had this one too.
Matt Fox: 16:27
I have not this has been.
Jamie Flanagan: 16:28
It's been around.
August Gitschlag: 16:29
It's been around the block a little while if they keep it around the block, there must be something to it. I don't know if it's two seasons continue, now it's not all year long.
Jamie Flanagan: 16:36
It's not an all year long cider it is, but it is.
August Gitschlag: 16:39
It's been out a couple of times, smell is smell is dead on.
Jamie Flanagan: 16:43
Yep.
Matt Fox: 16:43
There you go.
August Gitschlag: 16:48
We don't do a lot of canned stuff here. You don't do a lot of beer.
Jamie Flanagan: 16:51
No.
August Gitschlag: 16:52
Well, we'll be doing some beer.
Jamie Flanagan: 16:55
Yeah, the nose on this is spot on.
August Gitschlag: 16:57
I can probably smell it through my mustache, so it's kind of blocking everything.
Matt Fox: 17:00
You'll be smelling it about three hours from now.
August Gitschlag: 17:03
Is it?
Jamie Flanagan: 17:03
mandatory to have a mustache.
August Gitschlag: 17:05
It is not mandatory. I grew it out because the ones that I would, I would usually shave and then buy one and it just sweats, falls off and I'm like I'm going to get another one. I'm going to get another one, just cheaper, to grow it Plus. It's more of a novelty to talk about this monstrosity on my face, do you? Mascara it for the night.
Jamie Flanagan: 17:21
Just for men. Or just get that mascara. No, I'll borrow it from my girlfriend, of course. There you go and just use some eyeliner you don't have your own mascara, eyebrow pencil, oh.
Matt Fox: 17:29
I thought you could do eyeliner under the eyes too.
August Gitschlag: 17:31
No, I don't need any eyeliner for Magnum Okay.
Jamie Flanagan: 17:35
Yeah, the salted caramel apple. That's a happy party. It's not too sweet, that is.
Mike: 17:48
I can do a few to me.
Jamie Flanagan: 17:49
This is what cider and donuts actually taste. This is like that's what I think of when I yeah, when I drink this one I think of cider and donuts is delicious.
Matt Fox: 17:53
The salty carmeline, yeah, I have never had this before in my first time, oh really I must be full.
Jamie Flanagan: 17:55
Did you forget?
August Gitschlag: 17:56
how to human for a second jamie sometimes you try to drink through your nose, you know I actually saw a video of a guy drinking a beer through his nose. I'm sure it was a Buffalo Bills fan.
Jamie Flanagan: 18:07
So, Matt, you said this is the very first time he's a salted caramel apple Blake's virgin. How's that feel?
Matt Fox: 18:15
It's a very tasty beverage.
Jamie Flanagan: 18:16
On your mouth hole. It's good.
Matt Fox: 18:17
My mouth hole.
David Wright: 18:18
Your mouth hole Are you done?
Jamie Flanagan: 18:21
No, but I should probably stop.
Matt Fox: 18:27
No, I would visit this time and time again.
Jamie Flanagan: 18:28
Yeah, this is a very tasty big, big tony had a whole like stack of them. I think he got talked in or maybe misordered or something. Last year he had a whole big stack and I was like those are great and colleen liked them. She's fussy when it comes to ciders and things and so she liked them. So I like I. I every time I was in there seeing Big Tony at the Wine Garden I was grabbing a couple. But I think the packaging, I think they upped the packaging.
Jamie Flanagan: 18:51
Yeah, I think this is a slightly updated package.
Matt Fox: 18:54
Yeah.
Jamie Flanagan: 18:54
I agree. I think it is a new can, but the flavor is what I remember from the previous incantations and incarnations.
Matt Fox: 19:01
Has their packaging been changing to more characters on their cans.
August Gitschlag: 19:04
That's a great question that I don't have the answer to.
Matt Fox: 19:07
I'm just seeing more characters.
August Gitschlag: 19:10
Let me just call Didio on his phone and put it on speakerphone.
Jamie Flanagan: 19:14
There's a little copyright dance hall party happening there with the Cider Mill Donut to Fox.
Matt Fox: 19:21
I'm just curious because I've been not just Blake's, but there's a lot of characters appearing on cans. This, that and the next thing.
August Gitschlag: 19:28
I'm literally calling one of the guys from Blake's hey, what's up, buddy?
Mike: 19:33
Hi, you know, I'm just grocery shopping occasionally.
August Gitschlag: 19:36
Okay, well, you're live on the man Cave Happy Hour podcast.
Mike: 19:39
Oh, are you serious right now?
August Gitschlag: 19:40
Yes, I, because we're drinking Blake's cider, we're drinking the salted caramel and the Cider Mill Donut.
Jamie Flanagan: 19:51
Yeah, whose idea was the Cider Mill Donut?
Mike: 19:55
Honestly, I don't know if that came from one person. Not one person, I don't know. We just always knew we kind of needed to make a cinnamon donut cider. I mean it just kind of makes sense if you think about it. That's fair.
Jamie Flanagan: 20:08
I'm getting the cinnamon in the sweep. I'm not quite getting the donut-y part of it.
Mike: 20:13
I mean it's tough. I mean mostly you'll get kind of almost like a vanilla a little bit.
August Gitschlag: 20:19
Look at him grocery shopping. These there with the answer for you Bang.
Jamie Flanagan: 20:23
I didn't call them out of the blue. Yeah, yeah, yeah, alright, but our other question was what, matt?
Matt Fox: 20:29
Oh, yes, so are you guys using more characters on your cans in this day and age? Because I'm seeing a lot of characters on a lot of cans.
August Gitschlag: 20:37
A little apple dude.
Mike: 20:38
A little apple dude yeah, I mean he just kind of came around out of nowhere a little bit. I don't know, he's cute, obviously.
August Gitschlag: 20:48
He is cute, just like you, mike.
Mike: 20:49
Yeah, I mean, I don't know, he's cute obviously he is cute, just like you, mike, I think. Yeah, I mean, I don't know, he kind of represents who we are Fun, playful. Love it Making good products and again mixes with just showing you what's on the can. Like you can't not mistake what salted caramel.
August Gitschlag: 21:04
Which one's the flamingo.
Mike: 21:05
Shopping at the grocery store, you know.
August Gitschlag: 21:10
Oh, shopping at the grocery store, you know, oh yeah, good yeah. What one of your cans has the flamingo on it? Is that the? Was it the like a pink lemonade or something? Tropicalada, tropicalada, that was good. That one was good too. Yeah, you're doing great. You're doing great, buddy. We'll share this one with your boss?
Mike: 21:24
I mean it's you know. I've been doing it a long time. I should be able to answer these questions, yeah we were.
Jamie Flanagan: 21:28
We were talking bl's and enjoying some ciders while we're talking Magnum 12.
August Gitschlag: 21:33
Yeah, I love it.
Mike: 21:34
I'm super excited we're actually going to serve key lime. I locked that in today. Nice Key lime pie. It was our summer limited. It received extremely well this summer.
August Gitschlag: 21:46
That's good. You never do us wrong. You never do us wrong with the sponsorship and with the product. You guys bring in a new location this year. It's going to be fun at the Eastern palace club. It's built out perfectly, so much less time decorating.
Mike: 21:58
Yeah, that's when. I was uh, yeah, I I'm very excited about that part and I mean that was another reason for the key lime. It just makes sense. So TV bar key lime pie. I'm excited. I've never partied at the Easter Palace Club, so it should be a fun night.
Matt Fox: 22:14
I'll see you on Saturday.
Mike: 22:15
Didio, I'll be there, we'll find out who came up with donuts by the time we go there and I'll tell them to add some more donuts, maybe for next year.
August Gitschlag: 22:25
My friend, go back to your Whole Foods grocery shopping. All that health food you're getting for your wife and kids, bro, bro, bro.
Matt Fox: 22:31
Oh, the K-Roger alright there you go, michael.
August Gitschlag: 22:35
Thank you for doing this. It's a good sport, I appreciate it and we'll see you on Saturday. Great timing.
Mike: 22:41
Have a wonderful night and we'll see you guys Saturday.
August Gitschlag: 22:43
See you then buddy.
Jamie Flanagan: 22:47
The magic of speakerphone.
August Gitschlag: 22:49
That's right, you can bring them in anytime. And he answered on the first ring like what's up, buddy?
Matt Fox: 22:54
hey, hey, you're live on that man cave happy hour no shit really new phone.
Jamie Flanagan: 22:59
Who dis that?
August Gitschlag: 23:01
was great. How does sound on the headphones, could you? Yeah, okay, good pick them up.
Jamie Flanagan: 23:07
Oh yeah, you guys are. Don't have your ears on nope, right what?
Matt Fox: 23:10
you got your ears on.
Jamie Flanagan: 23:11
It's a little warm got your ears on good buddy. I'm in my, I'm in my cone of silence yeah, we didn't talk about that.
August Gitschlag: 23:16
It's gonna be at eastern palace club this year.
Jamie Flanagan: 23:17
That's we were gonna yeah, so we were gonna try the ciders, which we did.
August Gitschlag: 23:20
The salted caramel is lovely.
Jamie Flanagan: 23:22
Yeah, yep, I may revisit that. I may have a whole can to myself because it's uh coming up. Next on the podcast, your Voice Network is the Motor City Hypnotist, david R Wright, and then after that I'll be sticking around for CJ's Clippers. Wait what?
August Gitschlag: 23:42
You got three shows to drink through. Yeah, oh boy, he's got three shows to produce. He took today off, not yesterday, tomorrow.
Jamie Flanagan: 23:48
I know, yeah, what's.
August Gitschlag: 23:50
CJ's Clippers. He got a barbershop show in here. Yeah, yeah, yeah he's yeah, so it's.
Jamie Flanagan: 23:56
he talks it's like stories from the barbershop. It's really just Carl and his philosophy on life.
David Wright: 24:02
Okay, yeah.
Jamie Flanagan: 24:03
But it all focuses around all his shenanigans and friends from the barbershop. So, yeah, so, anyway, but yeah, so I'll be probably having a few more of these salted caramels between now and then.
Matt Fox: 24:15
It looks like you're getting the sniffles already.
Jamie Flanagan: 24:16
Jamie, yeah, no.
August Gitschlag: 24:19
Time for that positive COVID test. Go piss on a test stick. Oh my God Right.
Jamie Flanagan: 24:26
And they just put a bunch of boxes of like they'll give us COVID tests, just because we're just man teaching the high school. It's like you're in the talk about kenny loggins in the danger zone, holy crap. It's like man. Just buckets of germs everywhere, just now.
August Gitschlag: 24:40
I got a kenny rogers in the danger zone story for you from today you ready yeah, okay, yeah, I get a call I get a call randomly from my uh, my next girlfriend.
Jamie Flanagan: 24:48
Oh what what? Hello, hey, which one.
August Gitschlag: 24:51
Hey, oh yeah, is everything okay? Yeah, are you pregnant? Excuse me, are you having a baby?
Jamie Flanagan: 25:01
I'm not a seahorse, I'm not.
August Gitschlag: 25:02
I don't know if I gained a little weight, but I'm not.
Jamie Flanagan: 25:05
No, I thought I was going to say something.
August Gitschlag: 25:08
And her response was because I had a dream that you were having a baby and I was like so happy for you, my dream, and I just thought like if I call and I find out you're actually pregnant, I'm going to play the goddamn lottery right now no I? I don't know, but I'll uh call kat in texas and have her go pee on a stick immediately she goes. Well, let me know what happens. I'll talk to you later.
Mike: 25:29
Bye and that was it that was the whole oh my god, I'm like whoa, what was that about?
Matt Fox: 25:35
it was a full moon.
Jamie Flanagan: 25:36
That is bizarre yeah, it was a full moon, man, that's when the, the x, is coming knocking, that's just like, just like 89 89 x. Get back with your ex. I like that marketing plan. That is a great marketing plan.
August Gitschlag: 25:52
It really is.
Jamie Flanagan: 25:53
And it's like some of their liners are like can we just pretend the last five years didn't happen?
August Gitschlag: 25:58
I pulled another insult today. That was a blast from the past that only men of a certain age understand. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I go. That girl, she's like the love canal of Hamtramck.
Jamie Flanagan: 26:05
Oh, my God, oh my.
August Gitschlag: 26:06
God, she's a toxic waste dump. Oh Jesus, mary and Joseph. Based on a documentary I just watched on PBS.
Matt Fox: 26:12
David R Wright came on. David R that conversation.
David Wright: 26:16
What am I walking into here?
Matt Fox: 26:18
The what of him.
August Gitschlag: 26:18
Tremick, the love canal, the love canal. The negative version of it. The toxic waste dump in Niagara Falls love canal.
Jamie Flanagan: 26:26
Jesus. So we were just brought your name in vain. We were saying later today on the podcast your voice, yeah, network, yeah, actually I turned down four. I turned up four.
Matt Fox: 26:36
Okay, fair play I just did when he walked you're in good job because I was like we.
August Gitschlag: 26:41
We are the, the producers oh my god, you have three more of these to do tonight too.
Jamie Flanagan: 26:48
I know.
August Gitschlag: 26:49
Oh boy, you're already wiki. Wiki on the wooden table.
Jamie Flanagan: 26:52
I'm only, I'm only already air D air scratching. Yeah, I'm only. I'm only on Mike for this one. Okay, I'm.
David Wright: 26:59
I'm.
Jamie Flanagan: 26:59
I'm behind the scenes and just grading papers on my computer. App for the other one Grading papers. But I we use your name in vain, because we said you were up next and then after that, cj Clippers is coming in.
August Gitschlag: 27:10
Whatever that weird sound is you're hearing. It's like the third time my mustache has hit the microphone without me.
Matt Fox: 27:16
It's just a weird scraping sound. You get used to it.
August Gitschlag: 27:18
It happens, yeah, but yours doesn't have your nose hairs going all the way down to your lip. It's kind of fucking weird.
Matt Fox: 27:23
I trim my shit.
August Gitschlag: 27:25
Well, I can't trim it until after Magnum. You can trim that no you've got to have it as huge as possible.
Matt Fox: 27:29
It's got to be a big old hairy caterpillar.
David Wright: 27:33
That's why I just do a fake one. And then, well, that's the thing.
August Gitschlag: 27:35
I feel like after all these years, I can't do the fake one anymore. I have to do it. I've got to do it. Plus, the longer I have this on my face, people go. What the fuck's wrong?
Jamie Flanagan: 27:51
So I talk about the event I go, in case you were wondering why I look like you know I came from Epstein Island, but catching you up, Dave, it's the Magnum 12. Raising funny Raising funny.
David Wright: 27:59
Yes.
Jamie Flanagan: 28:00
Fun money for the Hero Foundation. And is brought to you, presented by Blake's Cider. So we figured we would drink some Blake's Ciders. And I was at the store and I saw the Cider Mill Donut. Nice, not so much. It's their first crack at it, because we talked about the Flamingo one, the Key Lime one, the Salted Caramel Magical they have just so many magical flavors.
August Gitschlag: 28:23
And their standards. Their standards are great, their American Cider's great yeah. There's a yellow can and there's a red can.
Jamie Flanagan: 28:34
The natural and it's kind of that apple guy without the caramel dripping on them, right.
August Gitschlag: 28:41
On their regular one, didn't?
David Wright: 28:42
come from the. Yeah, never mind, it's been a while since I've dripped caramel on myself.
Jamie Flanagan: 28:45
It's sweet, it's sweet and it's.
August Gitschlag: 28:48
You just got back from vacation. I don't believe you.
Jamie Flanagan: 28:51
It's cinnamony, it's sweet weed, it's spicy, it's okay. I would you know again. I'll put them in my fridge and I'll drink it. I probably wouldn't buy it.
August Gitschlag: 28:59
Once he said vanilla, I get the vanilla wafer in there. Once he said it, I'm like, oh yeah, you're right.
Jamie Flanagan: 29:04
Okay, that's a little donut-y, I guess.
August Gitschlag: 29:09
It's a stretch, you gotta stretch before you do that. That's alright, we gotta stretch before a should be a clean glass, would you?
Jamie Flanagan: 29:16
like to try the salted caramel.
David Wright: 29:19
I would like to try the salted caramel.
Jamie Flanagan: 29:20
I'm going to have a little more of the salted caramel. Oh, you have one open. Oh well, there we go. Poke a pooch, All right.
David Wright: 29:27
Put this under here and give it a try.
Jamie Flanagan: 29:29
Fuck a duck. There you go All right, and you buzzed the buzz as well.
David Wright: 29:34
That was totally accidental, but it fit, it worked.
August Gitschlag: 29:37
And then Didio just sent me a picture of a guy holding two cases of Blake's in front of him at Line of Kroger. Nice you go. Should I buy it for him? I'm like buy one.
Jamie Flanagan: 29:49
So, before we get into the location of the because we're going to go deeper into the location of Magnum 12, the podcast, your voice studio, and we're, we're, we're, you're coming to you live from there. We're up for several awards.
Matt Fox: 30:03
How many Lots?
Jamie Flanagan: 30:05
There's a. There's some local Detroit podcast awards.
Matt Fox: 30:08
There's like seven categories and we're in like eight of them.
Jamie Flanagan: 30:10
Yeah, yeah, yeah, there's, there's seriously mustache on the podcast.
August Gitschlag: 30:15
Yeah, seriously.
Jamie Flanagan: 30:15
Best mustache on the podcast host the man Cave. The man Cave's up for a lot. And then there's a health and fitness category and the Motor City Hypnotist is up in that I'm in the health and fitness area. The ladies. And then there's the boxing heads podcast is up for awards, and there's another one, I'm forgetting. And us, oh, Detroit, city of Champions is up in the sports.
Jamie Flanagan: 30:52
So it's the Potskers. It's like Oscars but Potskers.
August Gitschlag: 30:56
I get it Sounds more like potstickers, like I expect, yeah that's a pot, lovely dumpling on a stick.
Jamie Flanagan: 31:00
Yeah, that's what the dinner will be at the awards ceremony.
David Wright: 31:02
That's right. I hope That'd be good. So when do they announce these winners?
Jamie Flanagan: 31:07
Voting is, I think, the 15th Voting closes on the 15rd.
David Wright: 31:14
All right, we may have to get another message out.
Jamie Flanagan: 31:17
Yeah.
David Wright: 31:20
Yeah, I can push that a little bit.
Jamie Flanagan: 31:21
It's like Chicago Vote, early vote often. That's right. No clerks watching this one so do whatever you want.
August Gitschlag: 31:32
I don't care what happened in the 60s.
Jamie Flanagan: 31:33
Okay, so there you go. So yeah, so we're up for that. So thank you to how getting nominated that was fun, thanks to all the shows that record here in the studio, because they're fun and it's nice to see them getting a little pat on the back. So I hope, I hope. So I hope, I hope we get one, but I really really hope the people that record here get something, just because you know I want to keep recording. Yeah, yeah sure. Keep on coming in.
Jamie Flanagan: 32:01
Yeah it's fun folks. They're fun folks. I have fun with everybody that comes in here. There's nobody I dread to see come in when we were doing things that podcast collection.
Matt Fox: 32:11
He can say whatever he wants, I don't give a shit.
August Gitschlag: 32:14
Oh, the podcast collection in Novi or whatever Northville wherever you guys drove out to no, no, no, no. Before that, the podcast collective that was, uh, in royal oak. Oh, the pizza shop.
Jamie Flanagan: 32:24
Yeah, yeah, there were there were some folks that, as they were coming in, I was like yeah, okay, we could go now oh yeah, I remember being real scared of a couple groups that were coming in there yeah, there was like some weird stuff.
August Gitschlag: 32:34
So there was a nice big table though. Yeah, I liked that big six person table there. Yeah.
David Wright: 32:40
That was the Northville North.
August Gitschlag: 32:41
No, that was at Royal Oak.
David Wright: 32:42
Oh, okay, okay.
Jamie Flanagan: 32:43
That was uh those. That was the studio.
August Gitschlag: 32:45
We don't speak of.
Jamie Flanagan: 32:47
Yeah, yeah, audio. It was audio only times.
August Gitschlag: 32:49
Yes, that was audio only.
Jamie Flanagan: 32:52
Any mahoo. So good luck to all those people for the podcast awards and thanks for recording with us. I appreciate it. And Dave, he's like a longevity master here.
Matt Fox: 33:05
I've been through three studios with us.
David Wright: 33:07
I started right before COVID hit.
Jamie Flanagan: 33:10
He put up with a lot of our crap. You still come up with shit to talk about. I know it's relevant. How many episodes are you on?
David Wright: 33:15
now.
Matt Fox: 33:16
Well, it's relevant.
David Wright: 33:18
I think we're up to 316, 317 today.
Jamie Flanagan: 33:21
Wow, yeah, that's serious business. Cheers, my liver really hurts. There's a lot of mental health discussion in the archives.
David Wright: 33:28
Let's say that.
Mike: 33:29
My liver really hurts.
Jamie Flanagan: 33:30
Yeah, well, yeah.
David Wright: 33:31
I know, I know.
Jamie Flanagan: 33:32
We have an ad running in the show. That's run at the top of the show right now.
August Gitschlag: 33:38
Yes, Is it for Friendship House? It's when I use my radio voice.
Jamie Flanagan: 33:42
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
August Gitschlag: 33:44
That is September 20th and that was the call. I was on outside before I came in Our Folling for Food. You probably should have heard the ad up front. We raise money for the Detroit Friendship House, the same charity we do the tracksuit party, for. This is our big foaling event. We got out of the old golf outing business because it was just too much logistical challenge.
Jamie Flanagan: 34:01
It's a lot. It's a lot of work, it's a lot of work.
August Gitschlag: 34:03
And just a better profit margin when we're doing it at Foaling Warehouse. So we've got Ally Bank as our presenting sponsor and Nuvoo Foods, who has never sponsored anything in Hamshamick in a long time. They're like the new Kowalski down there. They're going to name the trophy after them, so we have a trophy for the tournament, which I'll probably just win anyway. But yeah, that's September 20th and it's a daytime party, so if you can come during the day before your DJ gigs, it'd be great.
Jamie Flanagan: 34:30
We'll put a link in the show notes, that's great.
August Gitschlag: 34:34
That's the 20th, so I'll talk about that next week. Okay, Some more, but this week is. I'm literally like I've gotten so much success from so many generous supporters, I'm going to have too many gift cards for the Magnum party, so I'm going to put together a nice big batch of gift cards. I've got a I've. I ran into an old friend a couple of weeks ago who I had known for a long time but hadn't really talked too much and we reconnected. And now the owners of Savoy and on the east side over there, Jaylee Dearing owns a Burt's and Meester Market. We connected and I had dinner over there the other day and he's like I give you as many gift cards, as many much monies as you want. Anything you want, take it, Come on Wednesday.
Jamie Flanagan: 35:10
I've had the worst luck with gift cards at auctions. And At auctions and not Magnum or the Foley one or you know tracksuit.
August Gitschlag: 35:18
You went to gift card to a restaurant that closes the next week.
Jamie Flanagan: 35:20
Other things. Yeah, so other things. It was like one was wigs for kids and the other one was how do you want a?
August Gitschlag: 35:26
gift card to wigs for kids you really needed? No, it was. I mean, you're a goddamn adult.
Jamie Flanagan: 35:30
It was. It was the foundation I was buying things for uh, but they give a half off a wig, yeah, yeah and then oh you mean oh, that's where you won the gift cards. Oh, I thought you got to win a gift card to it and the other one was uh the frazier, the frazier, uh families first, or something oh, the jean party, the denim party or denim prom yeah, yeah, denim prom.
Jamie Flanagan: 35:51
And so the ones, the one that's like cool coffee basket, right, there's a couple bags of coffee, a couple coffee mugs and like all the there's like four Starbucks gift cards, right, and I'm I'd like the Starbucks, right, sure, there, it's expensive. I don't always do it, I don't. You know, I used to get them all the time.
August Gitschlag: 36:05
Great gift to your girl.
Jamie Flanagan: 36:14
If she's a flight attendant, but as the price screamed up'll. You know, I have these gift cards and I get myself a little treat now and again, fun, right. So I get these gift cards. I go into to to try to add it to my card, right, because you're gonna, I have on your phone. Yeah, I try to add it in and it was like not working, not working. So I go to the store I'm like what's going on?
August Gitschlag: 36:29
I can't get these things added and she's like these aren't activated oh, someone just janked gift cards off the shelf, just handed them to you oh man, yeah, yeah, but I still.
Jamie Flanagan: 36:40
There were a couple nice coffee mugs and Colleen uses them every day, and then a couple cup bags of coffee, but not for what we paid for. And then the other one was this bar on Gratiot, near where Wild Woody's was. Is a little Lucky Leprechaun think yes that's now called something else hang over two, then it was lucky.
August Gitschlag: 36:59
Leprechaun, I know that joint, yeah, so a high school friend of mine runs that place.
Jamie Flanagan: 37:03
The lucky leprechaun was they had really great. They poured a nice guinness and they had really reasonable happy hour prices. So I'd meet pat. Uh, you know, my buddy tool, dj tool, teaches at lakeshore, I teach at fraser. We meet in the middle there and have some cocktails, uh and so and and so it was like, yeah, all right, cool. So I'm like, oh, cool, I'll get those right. So I get those, and then I I'd like, you know, two months later, three months later, it's like, hey, pat, let's go to a happy hour. And so we go to meet up there and and I'm like, pulling out the cards, and it's like the clientele was a little different.
Jamie Flanagan: 37:38
It wasn't the as lucky leprechaun as it was before and but all the signage and everything was like you know, it was the same place yeah, but the woman brought a little menu to me and it said double shots on the top of the menu and I'm like, oh, okay, that's interesting. And a guy came up and he's like, hey, can I get you something? I'm like, yeah, I got a buddy coming, that's you know, I got these gift cards, I was gonna use them. He's like, oh, he goes. Well, we're not the lucky leprechaun anymore.
Jamie Flanagan: 38:01
I go well, so love you, lip, cut outside on the sign and everything in here except for this menu that he just handed me. He says lucky leprechaun, you know I mean behind the bar everything he's like yeah he goes, he goes. We're having a really hard time with the city getting the, getting the rights to change the signage. He goes. But we're gonna get it eventually and I'm like, oh, I'm like so they didn't honor the gift.
Jamie Flanagan: 38:22
He goes. He goes, I go. Are these any good? He goes I'm not sure. Let me check, let me run them through the machine. He's like he comes back. He's like, yeah, no, they're no good they should have honored them at least they should have just that's how you keep customers.
August Gitschlag: 38:33
Just comp you a couple, couple gini. That's terrible bar management. Yeah, that's why places like that have the turnover and ownership, because they're not run right. Yeah, yeah, yeah, they're run by a couple guys that that you know, cashed out their parents pension when they died.
David Wright: 38:50
They just wanted a place to hang and they want a clubhouse.
August Gitschlag: 38:52
Yeah, and they want a clubhouse and they buy a place like that in a strip mall and you, you know, I mean I don't know if that's a specific story, because you know, no, because that's a common one, because a lot of the bar owners think, oh, this will be a blast, I can hang out and drink with my friends.
August Gitschlag: 39:05
It's the old bar owners that are even worse. It's the old biker guy who literally does that, you know, gets his pension, retires and cashes in on mom's house and gets her social security checks or whatever, and buys a bar for his buddies and it's like, oh, this is a money pit right now so I've had I've had not a lot of great luck with the gift certificates.
August Gitschlag: 39:24
I go or or rock stand-ups, for that matter, you're not okay, first of all, I'll get you another cardboard hard-on, if that's what you need. Okay, another cardboard I got hose.
Jamie Flanagan: 39:36
I won the rock stand-up. I didn't want that. Why does it like bringing it up? What energy drink? Yeah, I know, I know and we have much class.
August Gitschlag: 39:43
We're not going to have the Lucky Leprechaun as one of our donors.
Mike: 39:46
No, so we're looking at Firebird Tavern.
August Gitschlag: 39:49
Oh, they're good people. Coonan's You've heard of, so Savoy, which is the restaurant down on Mac and and Kaju J Lee Deering's place, and then we have Tokororo McGee's they both kicked in a bunch. Wow, wow. We have Polish Village Florian East Brewing Weiss.
David Wright: 40:12
Wow.
August Gitschlag: 40:12
We've got a bunch. Wow and it's like they give me like four each because we'd rather have like. We want to have like 20 baskets with at least a $25 gift card in each one. If we do better than that, great. And then we'll bundle some up and make that a big ticket item, a fan of gift cards, you know, to these places on the east side of these places. So you go, oh, the Charlevoix, yeah, yeah, yeah.
August Gitschlag: 40:30
That's my new, the new addition, boy and Gross Point, who now has a Wednesday night bourbon club where they do like a $3 pour of some expensive bourbon every Wednesday.
Jamie Flanagan: 40:39
Oh fun.
August Gitschlag: 40:40
And they have a list that they will sell you at the end of the year.
David Wright: 40:44
Every year in.
August Gitschlag: 40:45
November. That helps them do like their Christmas bonus and stuff. Okay, they take anything they're allocated because they might as well take it. I just bought a bottle of their actually it's in the car, damn it. The Charle bought a barrel bottle of their actually it's in the car, damn it. Oh, the charlotte boys, uh barrel select buffalo trace.
Matt Fox: 41:01
Oh, it's in the car.
August Gitschlag: 41:02
So all of these baskets that you're putting together, we're going to be at the eastern palace club no, they're going to be at a different bar while we're all having the event at the eastern palace club I'm just making sure he was trying.
Matt Fox: 41:13
Thanks for bringing that back.
August Gitschlag: 41:13
He was trying to segue I know I know what he's doing, I know what he's doing. It's like that famous line you called the machine answered. The answering machine no.
Matt Fox: 41:22
the leaf blower no it's just because we were going to talk about Mr Palace.
David Wright: 41:26
Club.
Matt Fox: 41:27
It's a great location it is Is Mr Palace Club kicking in.
Jamie Flanagan: 41:32
Are they having some memberships? Are they a happy, fun go lucky club? We have not asked them yet.
August Gitschlag: 41:36
I'm sure they will do that last minute. We're asking a little bit of them. They don't have a tap system, right right, so we're like putting in jockey boxes just to get the Blake's. They don't carry Blake's cider, so we're asking them to carry some stuff that they don't usually move, you know, and they got to pay about it. Yeah, and the space and all that, and it is Key West most northern, most bar, so it's decorated like in a tiki theme. You know it's not, they don't call it tiki.
Matt Fox: 42:02
Nope.
August Gitschlag: 42:02
They don't use that word Nope, you can.
Jamie Flanagan: 42:04
You can see it on one of the previous episodes we broadcast live from there.
August Gitschlag: 42:16
The space is phenomenal.
Jamie Flanagan: 42:17
Yeah, well, not on purpose, that's right, it was a let them again.
August Gitschlag: 42:21
One of those big rainstorm nights, yeah. So yeah, the Disco Caballeros, our friends Frank and John, are going to DJ it. They've done a couple parties for us and they're just good guys and they also have a following of their own. They bring in like 10, 12 people that show up and just dance. That's great. They've got a permanent dance floor built in with these guys. They're cool and they're very kind to do it for us. They know they're not call number one. There's a progression of our DJ friends that we use. You guys aren't even call number one. I know Apparently we're not even called three or four.
August Gitschlag: 42:57
You were called number two when you told me you couldn't do it. But yeah, we went to the Caballeros and they've been wonderful. They also know the party. They've been there since the first one. They've been to all the tracksuits.
David Wright: 43:08
They come to them all.
August Gitschlag: 43:09
So they know our people, they know our vibe, they know our age demographic, they can work the crowd pretty well.
August Gitschlag: 43:16
And then you know Mike Pierce and those guys. They're just so great there and the way they accommodated us for my birthday party back in December, we'll get nothing but top notch service. They have great staff there, super cool spot. So, yeah, looking forward to seeing everybody. This mustache, I cannot wait to cut it off. It's nuts conversation piece and I'm taking it on to another podcast tomorrow. Then I go out and about. I was going to do the DCFC game on Wednesday night, but that's my night. I had to pick up all these gift cards. Can't do the game.
David Wright: 43:44

Jamie Flanagan: 45:02
Yeah, I won't buy again. I'll drink what I have. For sure I'll screw the salted caramel.
August Gitschlag: 45:06
But I'm going to marry one of the other flavors Because there's like six that I definitely would get.
Matt Fox: 45:10
I wish I could marry the flannel mouth Well.
August Gitschlag: 45:14
